So that the producers have the maximum information about you, who are you?

I am Jaskaran Brady (AKA Brady) I am the director and producer of GEN X and the founder of Sigma963 Films. I  was born in New Delhi India and as an infant my parents emigrated to the UK where I grew up until the age of 27. Since 1990, I have been living in the Province of Barcelona Spain.

How many years have you been making movies?

2023 is my first year of film making

What was your first experience making movies? Did you study at a film school or did you learn on your own?

My first experience was exhillerating after exerting diligent effort in producing a single escript to a top quality short film

Although I do not have any formal studies in film making, I do however hold a Bachelor’s degree in Theatre studies (B.A Theatre Studies (Dramaturgy and theatre critics)).

Since1982 I have worked in the sector (film/tv/theatre) as an actor. I taught myself on how to make films from the experience obtained from working as an actor on film and Tv  sets.

What budget did you have?

I had a shoe string budget of approximately 4000€

Is it a self-financed project?

Yes, I financed it myself with some help from family and freinds

Any anecdote that you can tell us about the filming?

Yes, as I was working on the pre-production, I needed a restaurant as the location of my film. After approaching some restuarants, and had continuous rejections, I stumbled across a new restaurant in town (Mataró). On asking the owner if I could use the restaurant to shoot my film, he replied, “·funny you should say that, my brother is a film producer”, and ironically enough, his brother’s production director is/was also my production director. Now if one may say that “it was a coincident” I totally disagree as I believe that the Universe always provides if one can connect to the correct frequency (963Hertz)

If you had unlimited budget. Which actor and actress would you like to work with?

I would work with Robert De Niro, Al Pacino; Keanu Reeves, Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, Bradly Cooper, amongst others..

Your favorite movie?

The Deer Hunter (Michael Cimino, 1978)

Tell us 3 filmmakers that you like.

Guy Ritchie, Martin Scorcese, Christopher Nolan

What is the scene that has impacted you the most?

“The Mao” scene in The Deer Hunter, where the main characters are forced to play Russian roulete amongst themselves

If you could do a remake of a movie, what would it be?

I would like to remake “The Stronger” by August Strindberg, although it was a short theatre play, there has been a number of films made. I would like to make it more dramatic and create further suspense

Did you have light designs or did you shoot with the same light as the location? Can you explain the process of working with a cinematographer?

My cinematographer an expereriecned DOP, organized the lighting. Gen X was quite easy to flim as majority of the shooting was based around a table of two in a restuarant

Did you have any problems when shooting?

Our main problem was the space (very small) thus impeding the depth of shooting. Also the time factor as we needed to vactae the premises before the restarant opened for normal service.

And in terms of sound? Neighbors, flushing, cars?

We were lucky as there were no problems with the sound or cars etc…

How was the producer-director relationship?

I was the producer and director

And working with actors? Tell us about this process, how do you work with the actors?

As GEN X only required two main charachters, I posted an advertisement in a professional chat group in sought of my cast. I then sent sides to the actors and finally chose the ones who fitted well for the role.

Do you have any other project in progress?

I have three projects ready:

1) The Night Witches (feature Film) Steve Proswe

2) The analyst (a six part 1 hour mini series) Steve Prowse

3) Respira (a five part 1 hour mini series) Antonio Ocaña
